Tackle Football

Overview

Mavericks Tackle Football is our full-contact, conference-level program designed for athletes who want a traditional team football experience focused on skill development, competition, safety, and character. Teams compete in the San Gabriel Valley Junior All-American Football Conference (SGVJAA) while practicing locally in Palos Verdes with their Mavericks teammates and coaches.

• Ages 7–14
• Athletes seeking structured team play and game-day competition
• Players ready for regular practices, weekend games, and conference play


Teams & Divisions

• Junior Gremlin — ages 7–8
• Gremlin — 10U
• Junior Pee Wee — 11U
• Pee Wee — 12U
• Junior Midget — 14U

*Divisions fielded each season depend on enrollment.


Season Includes

• Local practices in Palos Verdes
• Weekend games (Saturday and/or Sunday)
• 8 guaranteed regular season games
• Certified referees and conference oversight
• Limited regional travel within the greater Los Angeles / San Gabriel Valley area
• Playoffs and potential friendship or bowl games
• Maximum 11 total games including postseason

• Confidence and leadership development
• Competitive conference experience


Registration Fees and Deposits

Tackle Football Registration: $500
Equipment Deposit: $350


The equipment deposit is collected at equipment distribution and returned once all equipment is returned at the end of the season. 


Team Fund: Amount determined by your Team Manager and Head Coach to support team-specific activities and needs.

What Registration Fees Include

Each registered player receives:

• Reversible game jersey (home and away) – yours to keep
• Practice jersey – to be returned
• Game pants and belt – to be returned
• Certified helmet – to be returned
• Pads set – to be returned
• Basic picture package and yearbook


All standard football equipment, including helmets and pads, is provided by PVYFC. Families are responsible for personal items such as cleats, mouthpieces, and athletic support gear.


Registration fees also help cover program-wide expenses including insurance, field rentals, referees, EMT support, equipment reconditioning, and other seasonal operating costs.


Team Placement

For competitive balance and safety:

• Team placement requests (friends, carpools, etc.) cannot be guaranteed
• Placement may determined by the PVYF&C & SGVJAA staff.


Refund Policy

Tackle Football registration fees include administrative costs, insurance, league fees, equipment preparation, and program expenses. As a result, refund eligibility is limited once certain expenses are incurred. Processing fees charged by TeamSideline are non-refundable. Equipment, uniforms, and custom-ordered items are non-refundable once issued or ordered.


Refunds are limited after certain deadlines and once conditioning, practices, or equipment distribution has begun. No refunds will be issued for voluntary withdrawal, dismissal, or failure to meet program requirements.


Exceptions may be considered only in extraordinary circumstances at the sole discretion of PVYF&C.

Financial Aid

Financial aid is available for families who need assistance. Please submit financial aid paperwork at the time of registration. Applications are reviewed confidentially by the Financial Aid Coordinator.
