This year the SCC established August 1st, 2010, as the first
day practice is allowed. The first week of practice is
conditioning. No pads are allowed; however, your coach may ask
that each player bring their helmet. Beginning on August 8th, 2010,
full contact practice will begin. Each player must have 10 hours
of conditioning before they may wear pads. If your son or
daughter misses a day of conditioning, they need to make that up before
they may participate in full contact.
This is a safety issue, so
please be cooperative with your respective head coach.
In 2010, our practice field space for the August time frame will again
be challenging but workable. We will be utilizing multiple sites around the Penninsula, which will communicated to you by your Head Coach or General Manager.
Beginning on September 9th, 2010, practice time is reduced
to three days for tackle and 2 days for flag. It is up to the
discretion of each Head Coach to establish the times for practice for
their teams within the guidelines for the facilities that we are
using.
It is important to note that our facilities have strict
guidelines for our use of those facilities and your cooperation in
following those rules will insure we are allowed to continue to use
those facilities. These guidelines may include start and stop
times, parking restrictions, and always insuring that our trash is
picked up and put in the proper receptacles.
By order of the Superintendent of Schools, due to pressure from a small, but vocal group of PVHS Neighbors, the entry gate to the PVHS field from Epping Road (south side of school) will be closed. So, for Equipment Distribution, as well as for our games at PVHS, visitors must park in the school lots, accessed from Cloyden Road (north side of the school). From the parking lots, visitors can walk down the one-way road to the baseball field and then walk between the baseball field and the tennis courts (third-base line) over to the football field. Visitors can also drop their child/children off (or park if there is room) at the baseball field and then drive around the block and park in the school lot.
The football practice sites also have certain site specific
guidelines that we must adhere to. Please understand, our adherence to these
guidelines helps insure that we will be able to continue to use these
facilities. Your cooperation and support are greatly
appreciated.
